Building Specialists (BSI) plays an uplifting role in the Opening of the Taubman Museum of Art.
ROANOKE, Va.—Roanoke’s new Taubman Museum of Art opened on November 8, 2008 with glorious celebration and an additional elevator, thanks to the quick work of BSI’s staff.
Hoping to keep cost down on construction, initially the museum decided to install only one of 2 planned elevators, leaving an empty shaft for later installation. As the opening weekend celebration neared, the number of estimated attendees increased dramatically and BSI was called upon to install the second elevator in a quick 4 weeks timeframe. We immediately began the process of opening and patching each of the 3 doorways, finishing drywall, floor tile, and hardwood flooring while supervising all electrical work and elevator installation.
We at BSI congratulate the Taubman Museum of Art and all its wonderful employees on a wonderful opening weekend and we are pleased to have played a small, however uplifting role in creating this incredible artistic structure in Downtown Roanoke.
