Redesign and addition to existing trail center

Giles County Trail Center consisted of a complete redesign and large addition to an existing structure at Mountain Lake Lodge.

Building Specialists worked with the Giles County and Mountain Lake to create a safe and comfortable resting spot for hikers on the Appalachian trail. Converting an old block building into a much larger, modern facility where hikers can use the restroom, change clothes and learn more about the local area and history through the new trail center welcome area.

The extreme high altitudes in the winter months and the discovery of unstable soil samples turned this into a more complicated project; however, it was completed on schedule and on budget
