Building Specialists General Contractors (BSI) was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such visionary clients. Clients who not only understood the difficulties and intricacies of fulfilling their design scope but also saw the value of cocooning a 250- year-old log cabin and its original hand dug stone well inside a modern home addition.

Our team of craftsmen at BSI has extensive experience with historic restoration work and this project challenged and excited them every step of the way. When a log cabin that has been covered for over a century is exposed, there can be many challenges. The most critical was to modify and solidify the foundation as we excavated around the structure for the new addition. We also determined a new roof structure was needed to stabilize the structure.

The old log cabin went from being a two story two room area in the home, to being a stunning feature and the first thing that is revealed as you enter the home.
