Rex Theater
The 475-seat historic theater in downtown Galax is known worldwide for its weekly broadcast of live old-time and bluegrass music. Through its privately-owned past, unrepaired leaks in the roof caused damage to the original plaster ceiling.
Virginia Tech Newman Library
Due to innovations in technology and student demand, Virginia Tech’s main library required renovations to reduce the quantity of paper books and increase the availability of laptop charging stations.
Trinity UMC Fellowship Hall
BSI was contacted by former client Trinity United Methodist Church in Buchanan to update their facility to meet current ADA standards allowing all patrons easier access to the church.
Roanoke College Presidents Home
The Presidents Home at Roanoke College was in need of an update. The kitchen, powder room, laundry room, and back entrance had not been renovated since the 1960’s. The home needed a modern kitchen that would not only accommodate the President’s family, but also operate as a catering facility for college functions held at the home.
Warm Hearth Village
Warm Hearth Village founder, Wybe Kroontje envisioned a Village Center that would be the heart of the campus plan. A facility that would enhance both physical and social wellness through three main areas: the welcome center, the fitness center and community gathering spaces.
VMI Richardson Hall HVAC
The existing laundry facility at VMI was built when opening windows and basic fans were the only means of climate control. The electric service to the building was also not adequate for modern washing and drying equipment, HVAC and lighting.
Center for Advanced Imaging
Transform the former site of discotheques and deep fryers into a state-of-the-art medical facility housing the Roanoke Valley’s first open MRI.
HSMM Headquarters
HSMM chose a 19th Century building on Roanoke’s historic Warehouse Row for their expansion. HSMM wanted to restore the integrity of the building as well as create a compelling showpiece for the company’s corporate headquarters.
VMI Cocke Hall
VMI Cocke Hall pool was in need of restoration. The pool was improperly built originally and over the years began to leak thousands of gallons of water.
Flip Flop Shops
The project would encompass demo of a former jewelry retailer. The timeline of this project was extremely short, allowing only for five to six weeks to complete.
Mill Mountain Visitor Center
The City of Roanoke’s Department of Parks and Recreation had a great idea: to welcome and educate visitors to the Roanoke Valley when they took a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway or visited the famous Mill Mountain Star.
Foot Locker
Foot Locker was relocating its existing retail space in Valley View Mall to a larger one, which would allow for updated interior branding.
